The Design
“Soft shears.”
A fun little zig-zag detail at the edges gives this sweet garter stitch scarf a fresh finish. The shallow triangle is worked ‘both ends against the middle’—two identical pieces are knit separately and then grafted together at the center for perfectly mirrored halves. It can be knit to any size, so make a lavish wrap or a tiny kerchief.
We knit this Scarf in Manos del Uruguay’s marvelous, lace-weight . A single ply of 100% superwash merino, Marina’s softness is spectacular and it carries its space-dyed color—from soft, tonal shifts to complementary contrasts—beautifully. We love how those gentle variegations show up in our garter stitch scarf!
Grab the pattern below and choose a color from our selection of favorite shades of Marina; one skein will make the small kerchief; two skeins will make a more generous scarf.
